Eric M. Hofmeister Joins Enviroscience Consultants

Former Government Official, Eric M. Hofmeister has joined the management team at Enviroscience Consultants, a Mainline Company.  With a wealth of experience garnered from his dedicated service across various levels of government, including the NYS Senate, County of Suffolk, and the Town of Islip, Hofmeister brings a deep-rooted commitment and expertise to his new role at Enviroscience Consultants.

Most recently Hofmeister served as Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Public Works at the County of Suffolk with a focus on Sewer infrastructure, management of Fire Island issues and other special projects. Some of his notable projects include Illegal Dumping Remediation projects, development of a Community Center in Brentwood and a state mandated Raise the Age Correctional Facility renovation project. 

Extensive Experience in Regulatory Affairs.

Prior to serving as Deputy Commissioner, Hofmeister served in various capacities at the Town of Islip and as Downstate District Director of New York Senate district #3. At Islip, the majority of his work was spent managing the Fully Integrated Waste Management System while developing a stabilized cost model for its residents.  Also, while at the Town, Hofmeister spent 6 years in a management role at MacArthur Airport and standing in as Town Supervisor on two separate occasions.

During his time as deputy commissioner, Hofmeister was recognized by the United States Naval Reserves for his dedication to supporting our military members. Hofmeister was nominated for the recognition by an employed navy reservist for supporting his mobilization needs in response the COVID-19 pandemic. 

We are extremely excited about Eric joining us at Enviroscience Consultants. Eric’s years of service in local, county and state government will create many new opportunities for both he and our firm. Our past project collaborations were both highly successful and a fundamental foundation for our future together.
